This 12-minute extravaganza will showcase various forms of nature through spectacular fireworks effects, embodying the theme of ‘The Symphony of Happiness’ and conveying wishes for prosperity. The fireworks display will dazzle with four striking effects, including a first-ever feature for Hong Kong, illuminating the skyline of Victoria Harbour.
Various vantage points will be available along Victoria Harbour, many fitted with audio systems to broadcast soundtracks of the firework musical. Together with your family and friends, delight in the splendid fireworks and captivating melodies.
Reopening of Notre-Dame De Paris Cathedral celebrated at Disneyland Paris
Disneyland Paris is set to celebrate the highly anticipated reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral in a truly unforgettable way. Every evening from 5th December to 14th December, guests will be enchanted by “Disney ❤ Notre-Dame de Paris”, an all-new pre-show created to mark this historic occasion and paying tribute to one of France’s most cherished cultural landmarks.
The show will be presented every evening to guests, temporarily replacing Disney Electrical Sky Parade that will return on the 15th December, just before Disney Illuminations, exclusively from 5th – 14th December 2024. Universal Orlando Reveals Opening Date For Its Highly-anticipated Epic Universe
Universal Orlando Resort has revealed an opening timeline for its highly-anticipated new theme park, Epic Universe. The new theme park, the first theme park to open in Orlando in over two decades, will open officially on May 22, 2025.
Epic Universe will join the property’s two existing theme parks, Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, and water theme park, Universal’s Volcano Bay.
Next year’s expansion will also include three new on-site resorts, including Universal Stella Nova Resort (opening Jan. 21, 2025), Universal Terra Luna Resort (opening Feb. 25, 2025), and Universal Helios Grand Hotel, the destination's first-ever resort connected to a theme park.The new resorts bring the property to 11 hotels with 11,000 guest rooms.
When Epic Universe opens it will add 50 new attractions and exciting retail and dining options to the property. The unprecedented theme park will house five immersive lands: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, Celestial Park, Dark Universe, and How To Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk.
Airbnb’s Top Ski Destinations Include Mountains in California, Utah, More
Airbnb's latest release includes top winter destinations as well as app updates for an improved user experience. California’s Big Bear Lake topped the list as the most popular ski destination for this year. The southern California town features two major ski resorts: Snow Summit and Bear Mountain.
That was followed by Breckenridge in Colorado, Canada’s Whistler, Tromsø in Norway, and Chamonix-Mont-Blanc in France. California’s Mammoth Lakes, which features both June Mountain and Mammoth Mountain, took the No. 6 spot on the list of the 10 top ski resorts this year, while Park City came in at No. 7, and Colorado’s Steamboat Springs came in at No. 8.

Royal Caribbean International Building New Private Destination in Mexico
Building on the success of Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean International plans to build another private destination in Mexico.
Called Perfect Day Mexico, the new location will be located in Mahahual on Mexico’s Caribbean coast. It’s slated to open in 2027.
“Perfect Day at CocoCay has been a game changer for both our guests and our business,” says Jason Liberty, president and chief executive officer of Royal Caribbean Group.
“With travelers prioritizing unique experiences and destinations driving their booking decisions, we’re excited to expand our Perfect Day Collection by creating Perfect Day Mexico to super-serve guests who want to explore the Western Caribbean".
United Announces Largest International Expansion Ever With Flights to Sicily, Mongolia, Greenland, and More
The new flights launch in 2025. United Airlines will launch flights in eight brand-new cities next year, marking the airline's largest international expansion in its history. For the first time, the carrier will launch flights to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia; Kaohsiung, Taiwan; Nuuk, Greenland; Palermo, Italy; Bilbao, Spain; Madeira, Portugal; Faro, Portugal; and Dakar, Senegal.
The airline will fly to most of these destinations from its hub at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) or Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).
Travelers will also have an easier time getting to Greenland thanks to the new planned service to the capital of Nuuk from Newark on June 14. With that flight, United said it would become the only airline to connect the U.S. directly with Nuuk.
Beyond this expansion, United also adds other flights to destinations like Dominica in the Caribbean and Marrakech.

Qatar Airways to launch flights to Toronto from 11 Dec
With three weekly non-stop flights from Hamad International Airport
Qatar Airways will launch a new service to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) starting on 11 December 2024, with three weekly non-stop flights from the World’s Best Airport – Hamad International Airport (DOH).
As the airline’s fourteenth gateway to the Americas, the new Toronto route marks the airline’s second destination in Canada, joining Montréal which has served more than 1.6 million passengers across seven daily flights to and from Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) since its launch.
Operated by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, equipped with 42 award-winning Qsuite Business Class seats and 312 Economy Class seats, the new Toronto service will provide travelers from Canada and beyond with seamless access to destinations across Qatar Airways’ extensive global network, including Colombo (CMB), Bangkok (BKK), Delhi (DEL), Kathmandu (KTM) and Mumbai (BOM).

October 2024’s Festivals and Events in Thailand
October in Thailand is a month packed with festivities. It’s a time to experience Thai traditions and culture through various events, including the Royal Barge Procession, the end of Buddhist Lent, and the Vegetarian Festival. Additionally, October will host the Thai MotoGP for the fifth time.
The royal procession by water will comprise 52 barges, including four major royal barges – the Suphannahong, the Narai Song Suban, the Anantanakkharat, and the Anekkachatphutchong.

Four Seasons Is Debuting a Brand-new Private Jet Trip in 2026
With stops in Napa, Vietnam, Istanbul, and more. The trips will last 24 days. Luxury hospitality company Four Seasons is wowing travelers with a brand-new around-the-world private jet trip from California back to Canada touching on three different continents.
The new Grand Horizons itinerary, which the company will introduce in 2026, will last 24 days and take travelers to North America, Asia, and Europe. It includes stops in Tokyo, Bangkok or Koh Samui, Istanbul, Milan, and Lisbon.
The trip will also include several new stops to the Four Seasons private jet: in Napa Valley, in Ha Long Bay in Vietnam, in Mallorca, and in Montreal.
As part of the trip, travelers on the Grand Horizons itinerary will enjoy a two-night luxury cruise through Ha Long Bay, a chef-led walking tour in Mallorca, private wine tastings in Napa Valley, and more. The first iteration of this trip will run from Aug. 31, 2026, to Sept. 23.

New 2026 Solar Eclipse Cruises
Seabourn will give travelers two chances to catch the total solar eclipse on August 12, 2026: a sailing in Northern Europe, and another in the Mediterranean.
Seabourn Ovation will sail a 14-day “West Ireland Gems & Solar Eclipse” itinerary that departs August 8, 2026, from Dover, England, and ends in Reykjavik, Iceland. The ship will visit Western Ireland destinations, then position itself off the coast of Ireland for the eclipse. Jane A. Green, a fellow with the Royal Astronomical Society, will also educate guests about the skyward spectacle.
Seabourn Sojourn, meanwhile, will be sailing the 10-day “Spanish Gems & Solar Eclipse” itinerary round trip from Barcelona on August 7, 2026. The trip will take guests to Spanish Morocco, St. Tropez and ports along the coast of Spain.
Bookings will open for both cruises and the rest of the Europe 2026 season on October 10.
Vietnam Airlines Announces Nonstop Direct Flights To Milan
Vietnam Airlines announced that a new thrice-weekly service between Hanoi and Milan will take off on 1st July 2025.
Operated using the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the nonstop flight officially becomes Vietnam Airlines’ ninth route into Europe. The airline also stated that an additional route to Milan, flying out of Ho Chi Minh City, will be made available in the future.
The Hanoi to Milan service will not only cater to travelers from Italy but also attract passengers from other European countries.
This new launch signifies Vietnam Airlines’ commitment to expanding its global network, offering greater flexibility to passengers, but more importantly, fostering economic, social, and political ties between Vietnam and Italy, as well as between Vietnam, Europe and beyond.

Lyft Is Making It Easier to Travel with Pets
Lyft is getting pawsitively pet-friendly with a new feature that easily allows pets to come along on your next ride.
To access the new feature, which is available nationwide, riders will have to pay an extra $4, plus tax, which will be included in the upfront price. Drivers will be able to opt-in to the service. Once the pet-friendly ride is complete, travelers will be able to rate the driver using paw prints, rather than stars. Lyft said the extra $4 fee will go directly to the driver.
To bring a pet, the animal must either be held in a carrier, on their owner’s lap on a blanket, or at their feet.

Disney Announces Major Cruise Line Expansion with 4 New Ships
Disney Cruise Line will add the new ships to its fleet by 2031.
Disney Cruise Line plans to add four new ships in the coming years, bringing its total fleet size to 13.
The new ships, which Disney announced as part of its D23 event this weekend, will arrive between 2027 and 2031. Disney said the names of the new ships, their design, and where they would sail were still in development.
In addition to the newly announced ships, Disney currently operates five ships and plans to add four more in the near future, including the Disney Destiny, which the company plans to launch in 2025. That ship will feature a heroes and villains theme along with recently-announced new restaurants like a “The Lion King”-themed spot complete with windows that transition from sunrise to sunset as you eat, tiered risers made to look like African drums, live musicians and storytellers, and favorite songs like the “Circle of Life” and “Hakuna Matata.”
Currently, Disney sails to the Caribbean, Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, Alaska, Bermuda, Canada, Mexico, Hawaii, Australia, and beyond.

Carnival plans to add three huge cruise ships big enough for 8,000 thousand passengers to its fleet
World’s biggest cruise operator says the vessels will ‘deliver even more fun’ Carnival Cruise Line has announced plans to introduce three new mega-ships to its fleet before 2033.
Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri will design and construct the new vessels – nearly 230,000 gross registered tonnes per ship – that Carnival says will “deliver even more fun” to guests at sea.
The “landmark” next-generation cruise ships will be delivered in the summers of 2029, 2031 and 2033 and each vessel will be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG).

Disney Announces Lineup and Show Offerings at D23 Ultimate Disney Fan Event

This Major U.S. City Is Getting More Routes To Mexico
Including the increasingly popular destination of La Paz.
Alaska Airlines is expanding options to Mexico with several new routes from its Los Angeles hub for the peak winter season.
Starting November 20, the airline will offer up to 3x weekly flights to La Paz, the capital of Mexico’s Baja California Sur. Alaska will also begin daily nonstop service to Monterrey later on Feb. 13, 2025, the country’s second-largest metro area after Mexico City.
Both routes will be served year-round with Alaska’s E175 aircraft, which has a 1-2 configuration in business class and 2-2 configuration in economy. Tickets for these new routes went on sale beginning July 3, on Alaska’s website.

This week Disney has revealed exciting new details for the upcoming “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” which is slated to debut at the Animation Courtyard theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in fall 2024.
“The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” will be an all-new theatrical production inspired by the classic story seen through the eyes of Aerial herself. The show will include all the songs from the original Voyage of the Little Mermaid and two new songs; “Daughters of Triton” and “Kiss the Girl”.
The new physical set looks very impressive from the revealed concept art, essentially a collage of Aerial’s favorite things. The show will feature a mix of live performers and digital puppets that exist in the virtual space that the creative team has animated. The new physical sets will blend seamlessly with the digital environment. It will use motion capture technology to enhance the animation which will be used in the epic battle sequence between Ursula and Aerial and Eric.
With these new details now revealed, it just leaves us even more eager to hear the official opening date for “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” which is slated to open later this year.
Finnair Announces Opening of Expansive New Lounge at Helsinki Airport
Finnair will kick off July with the opening of a new lounge on the Schengen side of Helsinki Airport.
The carrier says the new lounge, which will be located near Gate 21, will offer “unparalleled comfort and convenience.”
The new space has been designed to accommodate up to 440 guests, which is about 150 seats more than Finnair’s current lounge.
Different areas within the posh airport lounge have been created for specific needs, such as dining, working, resting and spending time with travel companions.

Thailand Plans To Launch A Digital Nomad Visa For Extended Stays
Thailand is inviting remote workers and digital nomads not only to visit but to stay a while with its new extended visa program.
The visa, called the Destination Thailand Visa, will allow travelers to stay in the country for up to 180 days at a time (about six months) with multiple entries allowed, the Royal Thai Consulate General NY announced in a social media post. The Tourism Authority of Thailand also separately confirmed the news of the visa to Travel + Leisure on Thursday.

SeaWorld Orlando Unveils Opening Date For New Roller Coaster
SeaWorld Orlando is set to debut a new roller coaster called the Penguin Trek. The official opening is July 7. It will be located in the Antarctica portion of the park and is designed as a family ride, offering a unique blend of roller coaster thrills and wilderness adventure.
The snowmobile-style cards can reach speeds of up to 43 miles per hour.
One of the cool aspects of the ride is that the wait in line is air-conditioned. That’s perfect for those scorching Florida summer days. Sort of like Antarctica. Get it?
It also probably doesn’t hurt that the park is bringing back its free beer promotion to celebrate its 60th birthday. All guests get one free brew this summer.
Delta Air Lines To Launch New Service To The Caribbean
Delta Air Lines will fly its largest selection of flights from Minneapolis-Saint Paul (MSP) to the Caribbean and in Latin America this winter, with new routes to Aruba and St. Maarten, as well as expanded service to popular destinations including Grand Cayman and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
This winter, Delta will begin offering new flights from MSP to Oranjestad, Aruba (AUA) on Fridays and Saturdays. The new flights from MSP to Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) in St. Maarten will be on Thursdays and Saturdays. Flights will be operated on the Boeing 757-200 offering First Class, Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin options.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will officially open on June 28 at Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World, the company announced Sunday night. The carrier today announced a full slate of new flight options for winter 2024 that will take travelers throughout the Caribbean and Latin America. In total, eight new routes were announced today.
The airline’s expanded schedule for the coming winter will offer 11 percent more departures and 10 percent more seats compared to its winter 2023 offerings. America has also said it will extend the winter season on many of its routes to the Caribbean and Latin America.
That means more than 98 percent of the airline’s peak schedule to the region will operate for the full winter season. The carrier is also increasing service on 16 routes starting in December.

On Thursday, Oceania Cruises debuted their line of new Mediterranean cruises for next year in Miami.
The new sailings will range from nine-to-56 days on their ships, the Nautica and the Marina, and will visit several islands and cities in the Mediterranean. Destinations include Athens, Barcelona, Istanbul, Rome, and Lisbon, as well as a range of towns, which currently includes Monte Carlo, Cannes, Positano, Sorrento Tirana, Sarande, Trapani, Calvi, Propriano and Sibenik. While there, Oceania guests can engage in one of many offered excursions and activities of their choosing, such as touring the volcanos in Santorini or visiting the fjord in Kotor.
There's A New Luxury Airline For Dogs
Bark Air announces that it is launching new luxury flights for dogs and their humans, and we’re wondering if this includes a Frequent Fido program. The same company that brings you the monthly subscription service BarkBox is taking to the skies to make sure your canine friend gets to the same destinations you do—both domestic and international—just with flair and treats, according to Dollar Flight Club.
These flights will start next month between White Plains, New York (the Westchester County Airport, 30 miles north of New York City), Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles, and Stansted Airport in London. The private jet charter company Talon Air will take care of those with paws and dewclaws for takeoff and landing, while Bark will deliver safety measures during the flight itself.

Every time a new Pixar character came into view, happy yells from children filled the air during the Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration parade at Disney California Adventure Park.
The high-energy parade also brought plenty of smiles to the adults watching on Wednesday during a media preview that was also open to the public as a surprise-and-delight moment for guests. And delight it did. Despite no previous advertising, park guests lined the parade's route.
The parade is part of Pixar Fest, a celebration of all things Pixar at the Disneyland Resort that runs from April 26 to Aug. 4.
Better Together stars more than two dozen Pixar characters new and old. For the first time in a Disney park, characters from "Luca" and "Turning Red" appear in the parade, and so do old standbys like Woody from "Toy Story" and Mike Wazowski and Sulley from "Monsters, Inc."

American Airlines is about to make business class even more comfortable with the introduction of a "preferred" front-row suite.
The new Flagship Suite Preferred seat will be available in the first row of the aircraft and will offer more space, several storage areas, and exclusive amenities. The seat will be available on the airline's new Boeing 787-9 aircraft and on retrofitted 777-300 aircraft.
The "preferred" suite will feature a Nest Bedding mattress pad, a throw blanket, a memory foam lumbar pillow, and Nest Bedding pajamas to promote restful sleep at 30,000 feet. The 42nd Thailand Tourism Festival is scheduled to take place from 28 March to 1 April 2024 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre (QSNCC) in Bangkok.
Organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the event is set to present a plethora of distinctive tourism offerings with an emphasis on soft power and subculture. The event is expected to attract 150,000 visitors and generate 20 million reaches.

2. Air France To Increase U.S. Routes To Paris Ahead Of Olympic Games
Air France is boosting its service to Paris from the United States — just in time for the upcoming summer Olympic Games.
Announce this week, that the airline bring back its route Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN (MSP) to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) on a daily basis as well as an increase in service from Raleigh-Durham (RDU) to the capital city from 3 times a week to 7 times a week.
The route from Minneapolis will begin on May 13 and the Raleigh-Durham to Paris route, which was launched only three times a week on Oct. 30, 2023, is now operating seven times per week.
3. It'll Soon Be Easier to Travel Between Montreal and California
Canadian carrier Porter Airlines is expanding out of California’s largest airports, debuting new connections to Montréal this summer.
The Montréal to Los Angeles route will begin on June 27, operating 4x weekly. Then, on June 28, Porter will begin flying from Montréal to San Francisco with 3x weekly service.
Both routes will be seasonal, slated to end on October 26. Porter will compete with Air Canada on both services, which offers as many as 3x daily flights to Montréal from both California airports.

3. Virgin Australia Intends To Launch Pets-in Cabin Flights
Virgin Australia has announced its intention to be the country’s first airline to operate flights with pets onboard under a plan unveiled today.

The Hong Kong Flower Show (The Show) is an annual highlight of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), which attracts more than 200 horticultural organizations from locally, on the Mainland and overseas each year. 2. American Airlines Announces NYC-to-Tokyo Flight — Becoming First U.S. Airline to Offer Nonstop Route
Travelers will have more flight options to visit Japan this summer. Announced Thursday, American Airlines will launch a new flight route between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Tokyo’s Haneda Airport on June 28. The new route makes America the only U.S. carrier to operate nonstop service between both airports.
The new flight route has a duration of approximately 14 hours and 35 minutes and will operate on a Boeing 777-200. The flight will depart New York at 11:25 a.m. and land in Tokyo at 2:30 p.m. the next day. The return service departs Tokyo at 4:30 p.m. and arrives in New York at 4:35 p.m

Japan is set to launch a six-month digital nomad visa in late March, offering remote workers the opportunity to work and stay in the country for an extended period. The visa will be accessible to remote workers earning a minimum annual income of YEN 10 million (approximately USD 66,400) from 49 countries and territories, including the United States, Singapore, and Australia.

The Thai Immigration Bureau has debuted an online reporting system that allows foreigners to inform of their intention to stay in Thailand for over 90 days. The so-called online 90-day notification service was launched as part of Prime Minister SretthaThavisin’s policy to boost the arrival of foreign tourists as Thailand seeks to attract 35-36 million foreigners this year, The Nation reported. With the new service, foreigners can notify the bureau 15 days before the expiration of their 90-day stay by either writing an email or filling out a form at the bureau’s website, Phuket News reported.

1. Bookings Are Now Open for MSC's 2026 World Cruise
Offered aboard the MSC Magnifica, the 119-day around-the-world cruise will stop at 47 destinations in 32 countries. Travelers who join the four-month voyage will sail 36,000 total nautical miles and cross the equator twice.

United Airlines has filed an application with the U.S. Department of Transportation for nonstop flights between Houston's Bush Intercontinental Airport and Tokyo's Haneda Airport. The new service would make United the first U.S. airline to fly nonstop between Houston and Tokyo and would be a welcome addition to the region.
The rapidly growing Houston area is home to 240 Japanese-affiliated companies, and Japanese-owned companies employ more than 70,000 workers in Texas. Nonstop flights from Houston to Tokyo would greatly expand the options for business travelers in the region as well as leisure travelers in 64 communities across the Southern U.S.

Emirates’ flagship A380 made a landmark touchdown at Auckland Airport. Emirates flight EK448 takes off from Dubai International Airport at 10:05 am and lands in Auckland at 11:05 am local time. Transport Minister Tetsuo Saito said the tours will be allowed from Australia, Singapore, Thailand and the United States as an experiment. Each tour can have a maximum of four people, and a total of 50 participants are expected to join the experiment.
3. Travelling to Austria

Air New Zealand has revealed the launch date for its highly anticipated Auckland to New York non-stop service, set to be one of the world's longest passenger flights. 2. P&O Cruises celebrates full return to service

If you test negative, you can proceed to immigration and customs. If you're entering Singapore from a low-infection country or via a Vaccinated Travel Lane you'll be required to have a supervised self-swab Antigen Rapid Test within 24 hours of your arrival. Your assessed travel history will be reduced from 14 to 7 days, and long-term pass holders are no longer required to apply for a Vaccinated Travel Pass. Travellers transiting Singapore are also no longer required to take a pre-departure test.
2. Travelling to Hong Kong
Hong Kong has suspended flights from numerous countries, including Australia until 20 April. Passengers who have been in these countries for more than 2 hours within 14 days before arrival are not permitted to board a flight to Hong Kong. Travellers will be required to quarantine in a designated quarantine hotel for 14 days followed by a further 7 days of self-monitoring
3. World's biggest cruise ship arrives in Florida ahead of inaugural cruise
The new world's biggest cruise ship is a step closer to making its debut after arriving in the US. Royal Caribbean's Wonder of the Seas will make its maiden voyage from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on March 4 on a seven-night Caribbean cruise. It will stay in the region until the end of April before heading to Europe for sailings from Barcelona, Spain, and the Italian capital, Rome until October.

2. British Airways to relaunch daytime Newark flight

2. Travelling to Philippines
Fully vaccinated arrivals are no longer required to quarantine on arrival. From 10 February, fully vaccinated Australians are allowed to enter the Philippines, without a visa, provided they meet certain requirements. All foreign nationals entering the Philippines must have travel insurance for COVID-19 treatment with a minimum coverage of $US35,000.

1. Travelling to Australia
The international border is set to reopen to those who are fully vaccinated by February 21. People need to have had two doses of a COVID vaccine to be allowed in. Any unvaccinated travellers will have to apply for an exemption before they travel to Australia.
2. Travelling to New Zealand
- Vaccinated New Zealanders in Australia can travel home from Feb. 27 without a requirement to stay at state-managed quarantine facilities.
- New Zealand citizens in the rest of the world will be able to do so two weeks later.
- Foreign vaccinated backpackers and some skilled workers can come to the country beginning March 13.
- Tourists from Australia and other visa-free countries will only be allowed in by July.
- Travellers from the rest of the world will be kept out until October under the plan. - All travellers would still have to self-isolate for 10 days.

1. Travelling to Taiwan
If you don’t have a residency permit you can't travel to Taiwan. Passengers arriving from particular countries, including Australia, must take a COVID-19 (PCR) test immediately after disembarking the aircraft, and wait for their results. If you test negative, you can proceed to immigration and customs. If you test positive, but have mild symptoms or are asymptomatic, you'll be taken to a government designated facility or an enhanced quarantine hotel. If you have serious symptoms, you'll be taken directly to hospital for further testing and treatment.
2. Travelling to Japan
Japan has reduced the self-isolation period for incoming international arrivals to 7 days. Travellers from Australia must still quarantine for 3 days at a designated quarantine facility. You must then continue to self-isolate for a further 4 days.

1. Changes to the COVID-19 testing requirements for inbound travel to Australia
From 1am AEDT on 23 January 2022, more test types will now be accepted. Tests can be either:
- A nucleic acid amplification (NAA) test - such as a PCR test - done within 3 days before the day of the flight’s scheduled departure, or
- A rapid antigen test (RAT), taken under the supervision of a medical practioner within 24 hours of the flight’s scheduled departure time.
In addition, the time between receiving a positive test result and being able to be cleared for travel to Australia will be reduced from 14 to 7 days.

1. International arrivals to NSW
You must self-isolate until you get a negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test result.
- Take a rapid antigen test within 24 hours of landing in NSW
- Another on or after day 6
- You can’t go to any high risk settings (aged care, disability care, healthcare and correctional facilities) until 7 days after arrival and you get a negative test result from your day 6 test
- A rapid antigen test after day 12 is strongly recommended
- If you get a positive rapid antigen test result or develop symptoms you must get a PCR (nose and throat) test immediately and self-isolate until you get a negative result
2. Travelling to Fiji
Effective 1 January 2022, the Fiji Government will require eligible passengers aged 12 years and above to show evidence of a negative PCR test taken no more than 2 calendar days (reduced from 3 days) prior to the scheduled day of departure. In addition, all eligible travellers will now be required to take an approved Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) after 24 hours of their arrival into Fiji

1. Interstate Travel
Queensland will open its borders to fully vaccinated travellers from interstate hotspots at 1am on Monday December 13 Those not fully vaccinated must arrive by air and undergo 14 days of hotel quarantine Travellers must show proof of a negative COVID-19 test within the 72 hours before arrival
2. Travelling to New Zealand
Australian citizens or permanent resident visa holders (including resident return visa holders), who are subject to border restrictions, may request a border exception to travel to New Zealand by submitting a Request for Travel to New Zealand. You must have a critical purpose reason to travel to New Zealand and apply for a Request for Travel to New Zealand
3. Travelling to Cambodia
If you've been in or transited through Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Angola or Zambia in the previous 21 days, you’ll be required to quarantine on arrival for 7 days if vaccinated or 14 days if unvaccinated. All other travellers to Cambodia who are vaccinated don't need to quarantine on arrival.

1. Quarantine requirements in response to Omicron variant
All fully vaccinated travellers arriving in NSW who have been in any overseas country must get a COVID-19 PCR (nose and throat) test and self-isolate at their place of residence for at least 72 hours. All travellers arriving in NSW who have been in South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Namibia, Eswatini, Malawi, and the Seychelles in the 14-day period before their arrival will be required to enter hotel quarantine for 14 days, irrespective of their vaccination status. All unvaccinated travellers from any overseas country will continue to enter hotel quarantine.
2. Travelling to Australia
Australian borders will remain closed to international students and skilled migrants until December 15
3. Japanese and Korean Visitors
The reopening to travellers from Japan and the Republic of Korea will also be paused until 15 December.
4. Arriving into NSW from overseas
You must enter hotel quarantine for 14 days if:
- You’re not fully vaxxed
- You have been in or transited through a country of concern in the 14 days before your arrival in NSW, regardless of your vaccination status. You do not need to enter hotel quarantine if you’re fully vaxxed and arriving from an overseas country, but not a country of concern.
You must:
- Travel directly from the airport to your home or accommodation where you will self-isolate via private vehicle, rideshare or taxi – do not take public transport
- Self-isolate for 72 hours
- Get a PCR (nose and throat swab) test within 24 hours of arrival and again on or after day 6 (a test on day 12 is strongly recommended) – do not use a self-testing kit
- You can leave self-isolation after 72 hours ONLY if you have returned a negative PCR test result – follow the NSW Health guidelines for recent fully vaccinated arrivals after you leave self-isolation
- Avoid high-risk places such as hospitals and aged care facilities until you get a negative day 6 result Fines apply for not following self-isolation and testing rules. You can get tested at any COVID-19 testing clinic in NSW
4. Interstate travel - People not fully vaccinated from Victoria
People who live in Victoria cannot travel to NSW for a holiday or recreation if they are over 16 years of age and not fully vaccinated.
5. Travelling to Australia
Have you been in or transited through a country of concern between 14 – 28 November? You need to:
- Get a COVID-19 PCR (nose and throat swab) test
- Self-isolate for 14 days
- Call NSW Health on 1800 943 553 Countries of concern are Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
6. Quarantine in NSW
International passengers to NSW need to self-isolate for at least 72 hours and get a COVID-19 test. Those from southern Africa will need to enter hotel quarantine for 14 days.
7. Domestic travel
Visitors arriving in NSW from ‘affected areas’ and ‘areas of concern’ must complete a self-declaration form and may be required to get tested for COVID-19 and/or self-isolate. Anyone visiting other states from NSW must comply with the border crossing and isolation or quarantine requirements in the state they are travelling to.
8. International unvaccinated travellers
All unvaccinated travellers from any overseas country will continue to enter hotel quarantine.
9. International Travel
Australian citizens and permanent residents who are fully vaccinated with a TGA recognised COVID-19 vaccine are allowed to leave Australia. COVID-19 testing for international travel clearance purposes is conducted at private pathology clinics only. Only COVID-19 PCR (nose and throat swab) tests are accepted for international travel.

1. Travelling into and out of Australia
You must show evidence that you have been vaccinated, at least 7 days prior to international travel into or out of Australia, with a vaccine approved or recognised by the TGA - People who do not meet these the requirements must seek an exemption to travel oversea.
2. Australia/New Zealand
Fully vaccinated New Zealanders in Australia will be able to travel to New Zealand without a two-week quarantine period from January 16. Fully vaccinated New Zealanders and other eligible travellers from all other countries could start travelling to New Zealand without quarantine from February 13.
